I don’t know about you, but eating out was a genuine activity I looked forward to every week... kinda like you look forward to closing the 100 tabs you have opened after submitting your final essay. While we’re still working on the latter, there’s no reason we have to stop eating our favourite comfort food during quarantine. So we’ve sourced the greatest pig out spots across Sydney (tired and tested) with options of pick-up or delivery to make iso that little bit less lonely. Not only will you be doing good for those mid-study hunger cravings, you will also be doing good for a lot of struggling small businesses!

INNER CITY/ EASTERN SUBURBS:

Chin Chin - Surry Hills:

Chin Chin offers amazing Asian fusion food. While normally you’d have to wait ages for a table at this popular spot, they’re currently only allowing walk-ins so you can finally get your favourite dish without the wait! Chin Chin is available for takeaway via their website.

Totti’s - Bondi:

Everybody loves an antipasti board but it's more fun when you’re not the one putting it together. Totti’s is still serving up your favourite snacks for when you’re feeling peckish but want to elevate your cabanossi and cheese cubes. Totti’s is available for takeaway via their website.

WESTERN SYDNEY:

Hoxton Park Kebabs - Hoxton Park:

You know you’re bound to get a healthy serving of food from a kebab shop in the West, but I bet you weren’t expecting your HSP to come in a whole pizza box! Their Gozleme is perfect for a little study motivation but if your 4000 word essay is due at 11:59 pm tonight you’re going to need the Holy Trinity of sauces on your HSP.

Hoxton Park Kebabs is available for takeaway or via Uber Eats or Doordash.

Alpha Sushi - Parramatta:

Alpha Sushi is a cozy Japanese restaurant that is full of Studio Ghibli inspired decor. Their sushi rolls accommodate every level of hunger from baby rolls to alpha rolls, which trust me cannot be eaten in one bite. Because there’s always room for dessert, just cross the road and choose from the dozens of mouth watering gelato flavours at Messina.

Alpha Sushi is available for takeaway or via Menulog.

Inflames - Castle Hill:

If you’re missing those fat banquet feeds of charcoal chicken and tabouli, you’re not alone. Inflames is still serving up all their greasy goodness during iso. Their affordable prices means that even on a tight uni budget, we can still eat as if we aren’t drowning in debt. Inflames is available for takeaway or via Uber Eats, Menulog or Deliveroo.

Air Lab - Cabramatta:

If you’ve never been turned on by a dessert before, today might be the day. Air Lab serves up the both the thickest and fluffiest pancakes you’ve ever seen with the perfect amount of jiggle. If you’ve been lacking your daily dose of milk tea, their creme brulee milk tea will satisfy you for weeks. Air Lab is available for takeaway or via Uber Eats, Menulog or Deliveroo. https://www.ubereats.com/au/sydney/food-delivery/airlab/a3G1Y9WASQqBZhivfp2i2Q

SOUTH SYDNEY:

Gelato Messina - Miranda:

There is no one who has been making isolation easier than Messina. Their nice-olation pack full of cookies, brownies and caramel slices is the only survival guide you need to get you through the coming weeks. Messina has stores right across Sydney so check out your closest one online. Gelato Messina is available for takeaway or delivery via Deliveroo.

Mark’s - Oatley:

While Mark’s offers a large variety of food, can you really make it past their pizza menu? With 18 different flavours there’s something for whatever level of your uni breakdown you’re currently facing. Let’s also end the age old debate and agree that pineapple does belong on pizza. Mark’s is available for takeaway, delivery or via Menulog or Deliveroo. https://www.menulog.com.au/restaurants-marks-at-oatley/menu

NORTH SHORE:

Johnny Birds - Crows Nest & Chatswood:

We’re calling it, Johnny Birds is everything KFC wishes it was. If you miss your evenings at the Whitehouse being told there's no more sweet potato fries, Johnny Birds’ huge servings will keep you satisfied until campus is reopened and the Whitehouse is restocked.

Johnny Birds is available for takeaway at their Crows Nest restaurant or via Deliveroo from Crows Nest and Chatswood.

Pasture of Balmoral - Mosman:

By ordering from Pasture of Balmoral, not only are you supporting local staff, but also Australian farmers and producers. If you’re more in the mood for a homemade dinner, Pasture of Balmoral is offering freshly made pasta options so you can create your own gourmet meal at home! Pasture of Balmoral is available for takeaway or delivery via their website.

Goodfields Eatery - Lindfield:

We’re all missing our Sunday brunches but Goodfields Eatery is still letting you get your smashed avo fix. They’ve created a temporary menu designed specifically around isolation so that everything is available, all day. Who doesn’t love brekkie for dinner?

Goodfields Eatery is available for takeaway or via Hey You. https://heyyou.com.au/restaurant/5085/goodfields-eatery

Brick Lane Espresso - Pymble:

Working from home still manages to take a lot out of your day, so Brick Lane Espresso is making amazing homemade meals for when you’re not in the mood to do the cooking. Each day they’ll come up with a new “Take Home Meal” Menu that can feed anywhere from 2-5 people.

Black Lane Espresso is available for take away or via Doordash.

NORTHERN BEACHES:

Hemingways - Manly:

We all still need our caffeine fix but iso instant coffee just won’t cut it. So Hemingways has promised the coffee machine is still on and they’ll continue serving up all your favourite hot bevvys from 7am. Hemingways is available for takeaway. https://www.hemingwaysmanly.com.au/

COCKTAILS DELIVERED!

If you need something a little stronger to get you through the coming weeks, get your favourite cocktails delivered right to your door. No crowds, no lines, and no chance of being overlooked at the bar.
